The standalone AC-drive unit and fully integrated motor and AC-drive solution now include a range of new features, options, and accessories that reduce installation time and costs, and save energy.
Danfoss Drives has enhanced the offering on its fully integrated motor and AC-drive solution, the VLT® DriveMotor FCM 106, and its standalone AC-drive unit, the VLT® DriveMotor FCP 106. The power range has been extended, and new features, options and accessories are available.
With integrated fan, pump and basic industry features, and VVC+ motor control, the VLT® DriveMotor is a space saving, efficient alternative to cabinet mounted drive solutions in the range from 0.55 up to 7.5 kW.
The VLT® DriveMotor meets the requirements of vibration class 3M6 according to the EN 60721-3-3 standard. Both FCM 106 and FCP 106 are now also available with 7.5 kW high overload (HO) capability. This capability ensures high-level performance and smooth operation of applications which have a high starting torque, for example conveyors or positive displacement pumps.
The VLT® Memory Module MCM 101 facilitates helpful implementation of factory settings for OEM and machine builders. It also enables fast installation of firmware updates, and easy commissioning or exchange of drives in service situations – a first for VLT® drives.
Built-in features for pump, fan, and industrial applications make these drives easy to integrate and commission. Installation and maintenance costs are reduced since external components, such as control and monitoring devices, are no longer required.

Sensorless pressure or flow control
Sensorless pressure or flow control is a patented VLT® feature that allows pump manufacturers to control their pumps on constant pressure or flow without the use of external sensors, such as a pressure transmitter or flow sensor. The cost and time of installing, cabling and maintaining pressure and flow transducers are eliminated. Reliability is also boosted, as no additional components or connections can cause a malfunction.
A pressure sensor mounted close to the pump provides a reference point that enables pressure to be kept constant at the discharge end of the system. The drive constantly adjusts the pressure reference to follow the system curve. This method saves energy and reduces installation costs.
With the new fully graphical VLT® Local Control Panel LCP 102, the VLT® DriveMotor is easier to configure and set up. The LCP 102 also gives a clear overview of the drive in running conditions.
The VLT® DriveMotor FCP 106 is intended to be mounted directly onto a motor. But in some cases, for example when space is limited, it is preferable to mount the drive close by the motor, instead. A wall-mount plate kit is now available as an option, so that the drive can be mounted in the optimal place for the application. This wall-mounted variant meets the requirements of EN 61800-3, class C2 when connected to the motor using a shielded motor cable up to 2-meters long.
