Replacing Mechanical Recessed Type Switches in Doors

APPLICATION

Floating magnet-type mechanical switches can fail due to corrosion (unit is not hermetically sealed), uneven wear of the plastic body, or crushing of the unit between the door and frame. The use of a Sentrol switch is an attractive alternative.

INSTALLATION

If the unreliable switch is a "repel" magnet type, remove the Interlogix switch and magnet and replace with hermetically sealed, 3/4" (1.9 cm) diameter Sentrol 1078C-1. Hole should be 1-1/2" (3.81 cm) deep. The 1078C-1 self-locks in place, requiring no screws.
