New Standard Environment E2B Proximity Sensors

Cylindrical-body inductive proximity sensors in the new E2B range have been specifically developed to offer a cost-effective sensing solution in standard industrial conditions, making it unnecessary to pay more for sensors that provide features that are not needed.

Environmental resistance

Well suited for use in, for example, packaging machine, machine tool, materials handling and many process control applications, E2B sensors feature IP67 ingress protection, an operating temperature range of -20 ºC to +70 ºC, and vibration and shock resistance in line with IEC 60947-5-2 (10 to 55 Hz).

Wide variety

To ensure that exactly the right sensor is available to meet every requirement, the E2B range offers a choice of M8, M12, M18 and M30 sensors, in shielded and non-shielded versions, with short and long bodies. Users can also choose between plug-in connectors or pre-wired connections, and between four different output types.

Ease of use

All models are provided with an all-round visible indicator light that makes it easy to see the status of the sensor at a glance from any direction, and all feature laser-printed part numbers that will not wear off, making them easy to identify during maintenance.

Complete cylindrical sensing family

New E2B cylindrical body proximity sensors complement our existing family of sensing products. This includes sensors – such as those in the E2A range, which offer IP69K ingress protection and can be used down to -40 ºC – that are suitable for use not only in standard industrial conditions, but also in the most demanding environments.

Pay only for what you need

Most industrial applications are conducted in a standard environment, in a normal temperature range, without extremes such as high oil- or water-pressure, or strong electromagnetic fields, or constant high mechanical stresses. This makes E2B the ideal solution for the vast majority of applications. It’s perfectly reliable for normal conditions. What’s more, you get just what you need without paying for unnecessary extreme robustness. 

For example, in the machine-tool industry, E2B sensors are ideal for detecting tool positions or line encoders. For packaging machines they can be used for detecting the positions of welded or pressed elements.


We have performed not only a specified test for rating the degree of protection (IP67) for catalogs, but also tests with oil mist which appears onsite. Simulation tests has been performed with attachment of high concentration of oil mist.
