G9000 UPSToshiba International Corporation, September 23, 2009 – Toshiba is proud to announce the addition of three new model sizes to their G9000 uninterruptible power systems product line. This second phase of development expands the G9000’s original offering of 80, 100, 160, and 225 KVA systems to include 300, 500, and 750 KVA models as well. The first of these units will begin shipping in January 2010.

The new G9000 models are designed for stand-alone or parallel use in up to eight-unit configurations, without requiring the use of a special switchgear cabinet. They only require front access for easy installation, operation, and service.

Using Toshiba IGBT technology in the rectifier/converter, DC/DC chopper, and inverter sections, the new models’ double-conversion topology provides an AC/DC/AC efficiency of 97% at loads from 50% to 100%. Even at 20% loading, the efficiency remains greater than 95%. This industry-leading performance makes the G9000 the perfect solution for N+1 parallel systems where loads are typically 30 to 40%.

Ever-increasing energy costs have spotlighted the importance of energy-efficiency. The G9000’s energy-efficient design significantly lowers operational expenses in comparison to what is typically required to operate a UPS. The all-IGBT design eliminates the need for an energystealing, front-end harmonic filter and produces less than 3% input current total harmonic distortion. The exceptional dynamic response of the inverter eliminates the need for an output transformer, improving efficiency and reducing weight, noise, and total footprint. The 300, 500, and 750 KVA units offer an input power factor greater than 0.99, a wide input voltage range of 15% to -20%, and an output power factor rated at unity. The G9000 supports 100% unbalanced loads and 100% step-load changes without battery discharge. These large capacity units also come with Toshiba’s industry-leading three-year onsite warranty.

Peripheral equipment for the G9000 product line is designed to be aesthetically and physically identical to the UPS. Matching battery cabinets, maintenance bypass/output distribution cabinets and tie cabinets are just a few of the ancillary devices that allow for flexible, custom installations that are already supplying the highest quality power protection for data centers, medical equipment, industrial applications, telecommunication, and broadcast industries to name a few. The G9000 is equipped to support monitoring adapters utilizing SNMP, MODBUS, and other protocols.
