Residual Current Devices
ABB residual current devices protect people from life-threatening indirect contacts according to IEC/EN 61008 or IEC/EN 61009. ABB offers a comprehensive range of devices like RCCBs, RCBOs, RCD-blocks, Earth Leakage Relays DIN-Rail and front panels in order to cope with all the applications in residential, commercial and industrial segments. Main benefits include Proven quality according to several international approvals; Comprehensive range of devices either for industrial and residential applications & Common accessories suitable for all System pro M Compact range. Main features include Complete protection against all kinds of leakage currents (AC, A, B, A-APR types available); Strong resistance against unwanted trippings; Rated currents up to 125 A & All sensitivities are available from 0,01 A up to 2 A.
ABB Protection Devices ensure security, service continuity e maintenance costs reduction in addition to the MCBs and RCDs ones: Fuse holders and fuses, Hospital equipment, Insulation monitors. Main benefits include Easy and Safe; We offer a full range of compact products intended to satisfy the whole set of different customers needs; Complete product range & Not only protection! ABB specific products also allow disconnection and switching under load. Main features include Compact; Integrated; Auxiliary elements & Easy installation in equipment control panels and flexibility for extensions.
ABB F-ATI and F-ARI Test are a combination of RCCB features plus automatic testing and optional reclosing features. RCCBs are supposed to be checked every six months in order to make sure that the contacts are working properly and the device is able to trip in case of a leakage to earth. This operation affects the operational continuity of the circuits downstream. F-ATI and F-ARI Test ranges push the periodic test to another level as this is run automatically and with no interruption at all of the service. Therefore, also the operations carried out by maintenance personnel are reduced to the very minimum. In addition to the automatic test, F-ARI Range features a reclosing unit that tries to reclose the RCCB as it trips. The reclosing operations are based on an insulation check to make sure that no permanent fault is present. Moreover, the results coming from each and every circuit are collected at once thanks to ARBus Modbus interface. Main benefits include Cost- and time-Saving: maintenance costs are cut down as the device runs the test automatically once a month in accordance with EN 61008 provisions. A full array of the devices can be remotely controlled and read using the the ARBus interface; Constant uptime: while running the test, no disconnection of the supply occurs, compared to traditional RCCB units; Easy installation: the unit is factory fitted so no coupling is required; Proven quality: the range is approved by VDE and IMQ CSV according to product standard & Smart system: complete monitoring over the application thanks to a fault check system and a programmable aux contact. Main features include 2P (5 modules) and 4P (7 modules) versions; Rated current: 25, 40, 63 A; Sensitivity: 30, 300 mA; Type: A-APR; Rated voltage: 230 V & Back-up coordination with ABB devices such as: S200, S200 M, S200 P, S800 N, S800 S.
ABB Residual Current Circuit breaker RCCBs are the safest device to detect and trip against electrical leakage currents, thus ensuring protection against electric shock caused by indirect contacts. These devices must be used in series with an MCB or fuse which protects them from the potentially damaging thermal and dynamic stresses of any over currents. They also act as the main disconnecting switches upstream of any derived MCBs (e.g. domestic consumer unit). Main benefits include Safety performances ensured worldwide by international marks approval; High quality execution and attention to details & Complete range of products and related accessories. Main Features include AC, A, B, AP-R types available to ensure protection against all kinds of earth fault currents; Rated Currents from 16A up to 125A & Rated I∆n Sensitivity 10, 30mA, 100mA, 300mA, 500mA and 1A.
ABB RCBOs are commonly used in applications where there is the need to combine protection against overcurrents (overload and short-circuit) and protection against earth leakage currents. RCBOs help in sensing this kind of faults and trip the circuit ensuring complete protection of the people and connected equipments. Main benefits include High quality & Complete range. Main Features include AC, A, AP-R type available; Wide range of breaking capacities for application from residential to industrial field; Rated Currents up to 125 A and poles configuration for applications in Single Phase as well as Three Phases networks & Sensitivities up to 1000 mA.
