SEW Eurodrive ECDriveS® stands for Electronically Commutated Drive System, a brushless DC gearmotor. But ECDriveS® also stands for "easy drive," the simple, efficient and cost-cutting drive solution for roller conveyors from SEW‑EURODRIVE. Our ECDriveS® is a DC drive with 40 W continuous power and up to 100 W dynamic power that is optimized for the typical power ranges of roller conveyors used in light-duty materials handling technology. ECDriveS® units are remarkable for not only their ease of use - just connect them and you’re done - but also their adaptability. They are extremely easy to integrate and start up, and once operational they exhibit excellent durability and long service lives. Decentralized extra-low voltage drives are especially suited for applications with power ranges between conventional servo drives and miniature drives. The DC operating voltage range of 48 V offers the additional advantages of extra-low voltage regarding compact design, electrical safety and simplicity. Up to now, SEW Eurodrive extra-low voltage drives have been particularly in demand for applications in the automotive and consumer goods industries. However, compared to conventional industrial servo drives, this field has different product requirements in terms of robustness, durability, serviceability and scalability. This is why, during the conception of the CMP ELVCD, our focus was not on yet another extra-low voltage drive, but rather on creating a complete industry-standard, decentralized servo drive with all the characteristics of an SEW-EURODRIVE servo gearmotor. For this reason the CMP ELVCD is fully integrated into our automation system with MOVI‑PLC®. It can be used for all automation tasks with dynamic and precise motion sequences up to 500 W.

Our Z.3 to Z.9 field distributors offer a modular platform that individually and optimally meets your requirements. You can realize requirements such as pluggable motor connections, integrated maintenance switches and varied fieldbus connections using different interlinked module terminal boxes. Thanks to the modular design of the field distributor, you can quickly and individually mount fieldbus interfaces and the selected MOVIMOT® power section. This does not just enable a standardized installation topology with flexible conditions, but also makes replacement simple during servicing. Extensive, modular plants can be easily created with an integrated T distributor for energy and communication. MOVIMOT® power sections are optionally mounted on the field distributor, and varied fieldbus interfaces flexibly support use with a number of commercially available controllers. Integrated M12 connectors enable simple connection of the decentralized sensors and actuators (MOVISWITCH® for example) to the higher-level controller. Standardized software applications do away with time-intensive functions. The PLC workload is reduced and reproducible behavior of time-critical functions (such as positioning operations with our EI7C incremental encoder) is ensured. Simple programming via IPOS also enables implementation of individual software functions. Integrated diagnostics LEDs enable you to determine the module status without the need for software tools. Complete pluggability makes module replacement quick and easy during servicing. This results in shorter downtimes.
SEW Eurodrive meets the requirements of system designers and operators for a highly efficient IE4 solution that can also be used in central control cabinet installations with the integrated MGF..-DSM gearmotor in combination with our MOVITRAC® LTP-B control cabinet inverter and the Configurable Control Unit (CCU). Our solution with MGF..-DSM and MOVITRAC® LTP-B extends many of the advantages of our MOVIGEAR® mechatronic drive system to central installations. To this end, we combine the MGF..-DSM gearmotor with the MOVITRAC® LTP-B control cabinet inverter and a CCU configurable application controller or a fieldbus gateway. All the components of this system are specially coordinated, highly efficient to handle and operate, and completely embedded in the SEW‑EURODRIVE software tools. This system's features make it ideal for use in item, packaging unit and container transport systems in the food and beverage industry. With its four fundamental modules - engineering software, control technology, inverter technology and drive technology - SEW EURODRIVE offers a complete modular automation system from a single source. The switching and protection functions integrated in the motor terminal box make it possible. You can choose between designs with a contactless star bridge connector or a contact-based switching element. The various designs also offer two different options for the direction of rotation: one direction of rotation, clockwise or counterclockwise depending on the phase sequence, or two directions of rotation, clockwise and counterclockwise independent of the phase sequence. All in one motor. Our 3 MOVI-SWITCH® designs are compact, sturdy and equipped with high-performance features. Thermal motor protection and an optional AS-Interface, all integrated into the motor in a compact fashion.
