The Right Inclination For Higher YieldSun lovers know that the perfect angle to the sun is important for perfect tanning results. Exactly the same applies in the solar industry. The solar modules generate the most solar power when they are optimally positioned in relation to the sun. This is made possible, among others, thanks to smart sensors.

Inclinometers are used in many fields: measurement of the horizontal position of a fire truck basket; vehicle leveling for agricultural and forestry machinery and heliostats in the solar industry - exactly these are the applications using smart sensors.

Kubler has been active in the area of mobile automation for many years and offers position and motion sensors. The company now completes its product portfolio for this area with a newly developed inclinometer. In this area, the demands placed on the sensors always remain the same: accuracy, robustness and long service life. These requirements led to the development the IN88 sensors.

The high protection level IP67 and IP69k, the wide temperature range from -40°C up to +85 °C, completed with the high shock resistance up to 100g and vibration resistance up to 10g ensure trouble-free outdoor use. Accuracy: 2dimensional inclinations in the measuring range ±85° or one-dimensional inclinations up to360° can be measured with these new inclinometers. Their resolution reaches 0.01° and an absolute accuracy of ±0.2° over the whole measuring range is possible at a temperature of 25 °C.

The measuring principle is capacitive or MEMS. Filter settings individually parameterizable via CANopen allow adapting easily the inclinometers to the application. The IN88 are available with the CANopen and Modbus RTU interfaces. The inclinometers are available in the variants with 1 M12 connector or with 2 M12 connectors. Supply voltage is 10…30 V DC. A Modbus version is also available.

The IN81 variant features an analog output and preset and teach functions. Thanks to their flat construction measuring only 80 x 60 x 23 mm, these inclinometers are particularly easy to mount, and they can be stacked on each other for use as a redundant solution. These inclinometers are moreover E1 and UL certified.
