Can I use a combination of motor and amplifier from two different series?
Different series of motors and amplifiers cannot normally be combined. Such combinations are not recognized or warranted by the manufacturer. If connection is required between different series, please contact us through your distributor.
Is any sample software available for RS232 communication or RS485 communication?
There is no sample software available for communication procedures. Each user has to develop software by referring to the communication procedures and transmission protocols described in amplifier user manual.
In the connection example with a PLC supplied by manufacturers, how is connection made with a PLC from a supplier other than those listed?
• Separate review is required. Please submit a pulse output I/F diagram of the PLC manufacturer in review through the purchasing channel (distributor). Our review process may take several days.
• We also recommend inquiring with the PLC manufacturer in question.
In the connection example with a PLC supplied by manufacturers, line driver connection case and open collector connection case are listed. Which one do you recommend?
Line driver connection is recommended. It is less affected by external EMI than an open collector connection and is much more resistant to EMI.
How do I select a regenerative resistor?
The part number reference table in the general catalog describes the recommended options for externally attached regenerative resistors for each amplifier part number. Refer to the external regenerative resistor option page for resistance value and rated power value.
What is the excitation current of DC 24 V electromagnetic brake?

There is no polarity. Either ± connection is acceptable.

For the EMI filter or reactor, an optional part number is listed according to the amplifier part number in the Part Number Reference List in the general catalog.

There are no options or recommended items for the breaker or electromagnetic contactor. Each user has to select one from the list of applicable peripheral equipment according to the required capacity.
Can you supply replacement product for other servomotor brands?
Replacement for other servomotor brands may result in complications due to differences in command format and upper controller system.

Is it possible to supply lengths less than 3 m or more than 20 m for motor / encoder option cables?
We do not correspond to such requirements. Please produce or prepare the necessary cable length based on your own judgment.
Are there geared servomotors available for bigger outputs?
Not available. Please prepare required gears separately at your side.
The catalog says that geared servomotors can be produced in the gear ranges from 1/5 to 1/25. Can you make other gear ratios?
Other gear ratios cannot be produced. If a different gear ratio is required, please consider purchasing gears externally and mount them separately.

Small motors have selection of lead-wire type and connector types.What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
• Lead-wire type
Advantages: Ease of procureability and in-house production.
Disadvantages: IP65 (IP: water-proof, dust-proof)
• Connector type
Advantages: IP67
Disadvantages: Procureability and in-house production is somewhat difficult.
There are many series of motors available. What criteria should be applied when selecting?
Motors are grouped into series by rated rotation speed and rotor inertia. Each user should select a mechanical element structure, operation pattern, motor power specification, key specification, and application. If you are not sure, please make inquiry to us.
What are the points to keep in mind when using the M-SELECT motor selection software?
[1] Element selection: Accurately enter the elements of the mechanical unit. Make sure not to make mistakes in units such as length and weight.
[2] Operation pattern: For general positioning purposes, the input method is based on the absolute position. Make sure not to make mistake in the time axis units.
[3] Final selection: Inertia ratio may be accepted with ? but all items should be basically ? as a rule.
